| Feast of Tabernacles 2011 Report - India |
|
| Updated: November 09, 2011 |
Twenty-five brethren rejoiced together in Agra, India for the Feast. Agra is a 5-hour drive south east of New Delhi and is the home of the world famous beautiful Taj Mahal.
This year was a very special Feast for many as this was a "Feast of firsts" for them. This was the first Feast of Tabernacles that 17 of the brethren had ever kept. Some have attended weekly services for years, but were never able to attend the Feast as the location has been so far and too expensive for them to attend.
The brethren had services, meals and fellowship together in one location.
Family Day included bowling and playing table soccer. This was the first time any of the brethren had ever bowled and some had never seen or let alone played a table soccer game. Afterwards we played the “Giving Game” where we laughed and laughed. Although it is sometimes difficult to communicate with some of the brethren in the Hindi language – smiles and laughter is the same in any language. It was a fun way for us all to get to know one another.
Spiritual messages were much appreciated. The first half of the Feast the brethren heard pre-recorded video messages from Mr. Melvin Rhodes and Mr. Ken Murray. David and Jolinda Schreiber arrived for the second half of the Feast and David Schreiber continued preaching about the many aspects of the coming Kingdom of God. Comments were made that this Feast enhanced their understanding of God’s plan like never before and it was a wonderful foretaste of the coming Kingdom of God.
The location of next year's Feast is unknown – but for members who enjoy International Travel – you will be greatly moved and your life will be forever changed to visit your loving and humble brothers and sisters in India.
